Our Development System
THE EFM METHOD™
Powered by the EFM DNA™
Train Smarter. Measure Everything. Improve Continuously.
Every training session has a purpose. Every player follows a plan. Every improvement is measurable.
3-MINUTE READ
Every football player trains.
Very few know exactly what they are developing.
At Elite Football Minds, every session follows the same development framework. Every drill. Every assessment. Every report. Every recommendation. Everything is built around the EFM DNA™.
Why This Matters
Most players repeat drills. Very few understand what they are improving. The EFM Method™ gives every exercise a purpose, every assessment a direction, and every player a clear development path.

TECHNICAL
Master the ball before mastering the game.
01 Ball Mastery ⌄
What It Means
Total comfort on the ball — both feet, close control at speed, and the ability to manipulate the ball under any kind of pressure.
Match Example
Receiving in a crowded midfield with a defender tight on your back and still being able to turn, shield, or move the ball to space in one action.

✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Match Scenarios
02 First Touch & Control ⌄
What It Means
The quality of the very first contact with the ball — killing it dead, cushioning it into your next stride, or setting it exactly where you need it.
Match Example
A long ball dropping out of the sky with a defender closing fast — the touch kills it dead into your next stride instead of bouncing a yard away.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Video Analysis
03 Finishing & End Product ⌄
What It Means
Converting the chance — composure, technique, and decision-making in the final action, whether that's a shot, a final pass, or a cross.
Match Example
One-on-one with the keeper, no time to think — picking the corner and finishing with the same technique drilled a hundred times in training.
Developed Through
✓ Match Scenarios✓ Video Analysis
04 Weak Foot Proficiency ⌄
What It Means
The ability to pass, control, and shoot with the non-dominant foot at a level that doesn't telegraph your intentions to the defense.
Match Example
Cutting inside onto the weak foot and still driving a shot on target, instead of needing an extra touch to set up the strong foot.

05 Game Intelligence & Scanning ⌄
What It Means
Reading the game before the ball arrives — checking shoulders, tracking space, and understanding what's about to happen, not just what already did.
Match Example
Checking over both shoulders before the ball arrives, so the first touch already knows where the pressure and the space are.
Developed Through
✓ Cognitive Training✓ Video Analysis
06 Positional Play ⌄
What It Means
Occupying the spot on the pitch that creates the most value — stretching a defense, closing a passing lane, or supporting a teammate before being asked to.
Match Example
Being in the spot that stretches the defense or closes a passing lane before the coach even has to shout it.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Match Scenarios
07 Decision-Making Under Pressure ⌄
What It Means
Choosing the right action — pass, dribble, or shot — in the split second a defender closes the gap, without hesitation or panic.
Match Example
Two defenders closing and a split-second window to act — picking the right one, quickly, without panic.
Developed Through
✓ Cognitive Training✓ Match Scenarios
08 Transition Speed ⌄
What It Means
How quickly a player adjusts mentally and physically the instant possession changes — from attacker to defender, or defender to attacker.
Match Example
Losing the ball in midfield and being the first player sprinting back into a defensive position, not the last.

Dimension 03
MENTAL
What holds up when it gets uncomfortable.

MENTAL
What holds up when it gets uncomfortable.
09 Coachability ⌄
What It Means
How quickly and how genuinely a player absorbs a correction and changes behavior — not just nodding, but actually adjusting the next rep.
Match Example
Getting a correction at halftime and actually changing the behavior in the second half instead of repeating the same mistake.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Cognitive Training
10 Competitive Resilience ⌄
What It Means
The ability to keep competing at full intensity after a setback — a mistake, a goal conceded, a missed chance — instead of shrinking from the next play.
Match Example
Going down a goal or missing a sitter and still demanding the ball on the next possession instead of hiding from it.
Developed Through
✓ Match Scenarios✓ Cognitive Training
11 Confidence Under Pressure ⌄
What It Means
Playing your normal game in the moments that matter most — the packed box, the big crowd, the scoreline on the line — without shrinking your decisions.
Match Example
A packed box, the crowd loud, the game on the line — and the touch, the pass, or the finish stays exactly as clean as it was in training.
Developed Through
✓ Match Scenarios✓ Cognitive Training
12 Focus & Concentration Span ⌄
What It Means
Staying mentally locked into the game for the full duration, including the quiet stretches where nothing seems to be happening.
Match Example
Staying switched on to track a run in minute 78 of a game that's felt quiet for twenty minutes.

13 Explosiveness & Speed ⌄
What It Means
The ability to change pace instantly — the first three steps of acceleration, a burst past a defender, or the speed to close down space.
Match Example
The first three steps out of a standing start that get you goal-side of a defender before they even sense the danger.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Match Scenarios
14 Work Rate & Repeatability ⌄
What It Means
Being able to produce the same level of intensity in minute 85 as in minute 5, over and over, without the output dropping off.
Match Example
The sprint back to defend in minute 85 looking the same as the sprint in minute 5, not a step slower.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Match Scenarios
15 Injury Resilience & Recovery ⌄
What It Means
The body's ability to absorb contact, recover between efforts, and come back from knocks without the physical output dropping.
Match Example
Absorbing a heavy tackle or landing awkwardly from a duel and being able to play the very next phase at full intensity.
Developed Through
✓ Position-Specific Training✓ Match Scenarios
16 Aerobic Capacity & Recovery Between Efforts ⌄
What It Means
The engine that lets a player produce repeated high-intensity efforts — sprints, jumps, duels — with a short recovery between each one.
Match Example
Making a hard defensive recovery run, then being available and sharp again 30 seconds later in an attacking phase.

GK Shot-Stopping & Reflexes ⌄
What It Means
Reaction speed and technique to stop a shot once it's already been struck, including deflections and last-moment changes of direction.
Match Example
A deflected shot changing direction a yard from the line — and the hands getting there anyway.
GK Positioning & Angle Play ⌄
What It Means
Reading the shooter's angle and cutting down the target early, so the save looks routine because the setup was already correct.
Match Example
Cutting down the angle so early that a one-on-one looks routine from the stands.
GK Aerial Command ⌄
What It Means
Claiming crosses and corners decisively, with the timing, strength, and communication to own the penalty box in the air.
Match Example
Coming for a corner through a crowd of bodies and claiming it clean, with the voice to own the box.
GK Distribution (Feet & Hands) ⌄
What It Means
Starting attacks accurately with either feet or hands — a controlled pass, a driven kick, or a throw that puts a teammate in stride.
Match Example
Turning a save into the first pass of a counter-attack instead of a hopeful punt.
GK Sweeping & Last-Line Reading ⌄
What It Means
Reading through-balls and coming off the line to clear danger before it reaches a shooting position, acting as an extra defender.
Match Example
Stepping off the line to clear a through-ball before the striker ever gets there.
GK Composure Under Pressure ⌄
What It Means
Staying calm on the ball under a high press and in high-stakes moments, without rushing into a panicked clearance.
Match Example
A back-pass under a high press, the crowd holding its breath — and still finding the calm touch instead of the hopeful clearance.
