EFM DNA™ · Tactical Pillar
POSITIONAL PLAY
One of the 16 Performance Pillars in the EFM DNA™ framework.
What It Means
Occupying the spot on the pitch that creates the most value — stretching a defense, closing a passing lane, or supporting a teammate before being asked to.
In a Match
Being in the spot that stretches the defense or closes a passing lane before the coach even has to shout it.
Why It's Coached Deliberately
Positioning is often taught as static — stand here, cover there — when in reality good positioning constantly shifts with the ball, the opponent, and teammates around it. EFM trains positional sense as a moving read, not a fixed spot on the pitch.
Part of a Larger System
Positional Play is one of the 16 Performance Pillars in the EFM DNA™ framework, under the Tactical dimension. No pillar is trained in isolation — every session connects back to the full framework.
